Fernando Alonso is keen to get his maiden Daytona 24 Hours outing underway and believes participating in other series besides Formula 1 will improve him as a driver. The McLaren driver will race for United Autosports at this monght's Roar before the Rolex 24 in what is Alonso's second competitive outing in the US outside of F1 in the last 12 months, having competed in – and led – the Indianapolis 500 with a one-car McLaren-Andretti entry.
