Pirelli has confirmed that drivers will have access to a softer tyre compound in 2018, and have requested that fans give a name to their new offerings through social media. This season saw a new Ultrasoft compound tyre available as the softest available compound, added to the collection of Hard, Medium, Soft and Supersoft as part of the Formula 1 Pirelli range. Following complaints that this year's compounds were too hard, the sport's exclusive tyre supplier has decided to introduce a sixth compound for the 2018 season, which will thus be their softest options.
