Hartley thankful for LMP1 preparation ahead of 'dream' F1 debut

Brendon Hartley feels ready to make his Formula 1 debut in this weekend's United States Grand Prix thanks to the preparation offered by working in Porsche's LMP1 programme over the past four years. Seven years after being dropped from Red Bull's junior driver roster, Hartley was named as Pierre Gasly's surprise replacement for the race in Austin alongside Daniil Kvyat. Hartley has raced in sportscars with Porsche since 2014, winning the FIA World Endurance Championship drivers' title in 2015 and this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the factory programme acting as a good grounding for the New Zealander.
