Sebastian Vettel takes Singapore pole as title rival Lewis Hamilton starts fifth

Sebastian Vettel claimed a stunning pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix which sees him start four places ahead of his title rival and championship leader Lewis Hamilton, fifth. Ferrari looked down on pace in the opening 20 minutes, but they were clearly hiding their pace, only revealing it in Q3 when it mattered most as Vettel eased to the top spot with a time of 1:39.491 to go 0.323s quicker than Red Bull's Max Verstappen. The Red Bulls were second and third with Daniel Ricciardo just 0.026s down on his team-mate, whilst Kimi Raikkonen completes the second row, much to Hamilton and Mercedes' disappointment.
