Palmer gets five-place drop for new gearbox

– Jolyon Palmer has been hit with a five-place grid penalty for the Belgian Grand Prix after mechanics fitted a new gearbox inside his Renault after qualifying.Palmer had led Renault's charge during Saturday's qualifying session, before suffering a loss of gearbox oil pressure early in Q3, leaving him 10th on the grid.However, a gearbox swap was required post-qualifying, earning him a five-place grid drop, which will mean starting 14th, due to the order in which F1 applies penalties.McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne (power unit, gearbox), both Sauber drivers (gearbox), Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat (power unit) and Williams' Felipe Massa (yellow flag breach) are the others taking grid drops.In...
