Lauda: Halo is the 'wrong' choice for F1

– Mercedes Non-Executive Chairman Niki Lauda has labelled the planned introduction of the halo head protection device in Formula 1 next year as "wrong".Following a meeting of the Strategy Group on Wednesday, the FIA announced that the halo, which wraps around the cockpit in the form of three struts, will be mandatory on F1 cars in 2018.Three-time F1 champion Lauda believes the implementation of the halo is an "overreaction", and will undo the benefits of the sport having introduced faster, more aggressive cars this year."We tested the halo, Red Bull's aeroscreen and Ferrari's shield as a cockpit protection," Lauda told Auto Motor und Sport."None has...
