Red Bull fastest, Merc breakdown

Lewis Hamilton recovered from an early track breakdown on the opening morning of the two-day Test at Bahrain. Hamilton's running hit an early glitch when his car required a lift back to the pits within the opening hour of the session's start. The cause of the breakdown isn't known but only resulted in a 30-minute delay for Hamilton before he returned to the track. The Mercedes then finished the morning second in the charts. Daniel Ricciardo led the way but only with a lap almost four seconds slower than Valtteri Bottas' pole position at the Sakhir circuit on Saturday.
