Australian GP was my best races so far – Alonso

Double-time world champion Fernando Alonso tagged that the Australian Grand Prix driving was one of my best races so far before he was forced to retire from race following suspension failure. Alonso was started from 12th of the race by Daniel Ricciardo's gearbox troubles. The Spaniard overtook Nico Hulkenberg on the first lap before Romain Grosjean's demise on lap 13 saw Alonso up into 10th and the final points position. However, the Spaniard was overtaken by Hulkenberg and Esteban Ocon with seven laps remaining and promptly retired while his team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne was the final of the race's 13 finishers.
