Canadian Grand Prix gets F1 extension through to 2029

The Canadian Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until the end of the next decade after the event's promoter agreed a contract extension with the sport. The event joined the Formula 1 calendar in 1967, alternating between Mosport Park and Mont-Tremblant, before relocating to Montréal in 1978. The event has only dropped off the Formula 1 calendar twice since, in 1987 and 2009, and in 2014 a 10-year contract was agreed between the circuit and Formula 1 chiefs. “I can confirm that Octane Racing Group has signed a five-year extension to the existing 10-year contract signed in 2014 guaranteeing the Formula 1 race until 2029,” a spokesperson confirmed to...
