Barcelona chooses day for wet F1 testing
The Barcelona circuit has confirmed that the final day of next week's first pre-season Formula 1 test will be devoted to wet weather running, if poor weather doesn't affect previous days. In a bid to help teams better understand the characteristics of the wider 2017 rain tyres, F1 tyre supplier Pirelli wants to devote one day of pre-season running to wet running. Barcelona has now said that the day chosen will be March 2, which is the final day of the opening test that starts on February 27. The plan will only change if any of the previous three days are hit by rain, although current forecasts do not indicate that will happen.
