McLaren announce BP/Castrol as ExxonMobil replacement

The McLaren Honda Formula 1 Team have finally confirmed their much-anticipated move to BP/Castrol for fuel and lubricants, in 2017. ExxonMobil, who had been the Woking based squads supplier for the past 21 years, were lured away by Red Bull Racing this season and so McLaren were forced to strike a deal elsewhere. BP already work in conjunction with McLaren Applied Technologies, and seemed like the perfect partner for the F1 team, possibly aided by Castrol’s close ties to Honda in other race series.
