Whiting joins F1 drivers' press call to discuss Mexico fallout

Formula 1 race director Charlie Whiting is to attend the drivers’ press conference in Brazil on Thursday to talk about the controversies that marred the end of the Mexican Grand Prix. Whiting was on the receiving end of abuse from Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel – who told him to ‘**** off' after not immediately ordering Max Verstappen to move over for cutting the track after running wide at Turn 1. Vettel’s outburst was investigated by the FIA, with motor racing’s governing body deciding in the end that since the German had apologised in person to Whiting, and subsequently written a follow-up letter plus another to FIA president Jean Todt, he would escape sanction.
