Pirelli recommends maximum lap numbers for each compound

Pirelli has for the first time this season recommended maximum stints for its three tyre compounds at the British Grand Prix. The Formula 1 tyre supplier issued a notice to all teams, recommending that no more than 26 laps be completed on the Hard tyre, 28 on the Medium and 15 on the Soft. Pirelli believes the Medium will last slightly longer than the Hard due to higher graining on the latter compound seen this weekend. Therefore the quickest strategy is likely to be a two-stop, with Pirelli recommending two stints of 12 laps on the Soft compound, with one 28-lap stint on the Medium tyre.
