Supersofts dominate European GP tyre selections

Formula 1 championship rivals Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have opted for similar tyre strategies for the inaugural European Grand Prix at Baku. Lewis Hamilton, as well as Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, and Red Bull duo Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen, have all chosen a single set of medium tyres for the event. The compound is one of the two mandatory tyre sets that need to be used at least once during the race. Championship leader Nico Rosberg has chosen two sets of the hardest compound available, the German having one fewer set of softs than his rivals.
