Renault spends 3 tokens for engine upgrade

The FIA have revealed that Renault has spent 3 engine development tokens for the development of the RS16B power unit, leaving Renault to continue to have the most tokens available in the remainder of the season. The arrival of the RS16B power unit was highly anticipated by Red Bull Racing, who likely wanted to see if Renault was really making progress after an extremely difficult 2015 season during which tensions between the two parties reached a highpoint. The situation has however improved, and following confirmation of the improvements, Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso signed new deals to get Renault engines in 2017 and 2018.
