USGP under threat after state subsidy cut
– Doubt has been cast over the future of the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, with the Texas state government significantly reducing the subsidy it pays the track.COTA received $25 million from the state in 2012, 2013 and 2014, but this payment is expected to be slashed by more than 20 per cent for the 2015 campaign, to around $19.5 million.State officials say the cutback is justified due to new methods of measuring economic impact."To use a technical term, I think we're screwed," Bobby Epstein, COTA's Chairman, explained to the Austin American-Statesman newspaper, when asked for his reaction to the development."It hit us cold.
