Russian GP: Diesel spill postpones opening practice
A major diesel spill at the Sochi track has led the postponement of the opening practice for the Russian Grand Prix by at least half an hour. The significant spill has covered the final section of the track, and fire crews have been called in to wash the diesel away. It is unclear what caused the problem, but marshals were spotted trying to attend to a spillage in the hours before practice. As the cleaning of the track surface is still ongoing, the FIA has had no choice but to delay the start of practice. A communication from the FIA said that the session would not start until at least 10.30am. However, the session won't be extended and will finish at the original scheduled time of 11.30am.
