Early driver announcement to avoid rumour - Sauber

Sauber made an earlier than normal driver line-up announcement last month, confirming that both Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson have been signed on for another season. The decision to announce early was made to avoid silly season rumours which usually spread toward the end of the year, as most teams wait until after the summer break to make public their driver plans. "It just brings in a certain consistency, and stability of course, and it just clams things down," team principal Monisha Kaltenborn told N.
