Hamilton tops disrupted first Hungary session

Mercedes AMG Petronas World Champion Lewis Hamilton set the quickest time during an opening practice session in Hungary which was disrupted by two red flags. The first came when Force India driver Sergio Pérez suffered a frightening airborne accident midway through the 90 minute session Pérez ran slightly wide onto the exit kerb at Turn 11 and his right rear suspension appeared to fail, pitching him into the barriers on the inside. As Pérez struck the barriers, his right front wheel buckled underneath the chassis and dug in, causing the Force India to flip over.
