Red Bull wants rethink over F1 'Procar-style' series

Formula 1 chiefs should reconsider the idea of a single-make support race featuring the current grand prix drivers, reckons Red Bull boss Christian Horner. As Motorsport.com revealed at the British Grand Prix, among the items F1's Strategy Group talked about during its pre-Silverstone meeting was a saloon car event similar to the famous Procar Series that ran in 1979 and 1980. But amid resistance from some teams about the commercial difficulties of having drivers racing for competing brands, the idea was abandoned.
