Mark Smith named Sauber Technical Director

– Sauber has announced that Mark Smith will join the team as its Technical Director later this month.Smith was most recently involved in Formula 1 as Caterham's Technical Director, and has held the same position at Force India, Red Bull and Jordan.Smith, who officially starts work on July 13, will fit in to the existing technical committee, made up of the heads of car performance, aerodynamics and design groups."When I saw the facilities for the first time in Hinwil, I immediately realised the possibilities I would have," said Smith."The wind tunnel, the supercomputer and the machine shop – everything is on a very high technical level.
