Hamilton says he "needed" Canada victory

Lewis Hamilton said he "needed" the Canadian Grand Prix victory following the pitstop debacle in the previous race in Monaco. The world champion controlled the race from pole position to secure his fourth win of the season and the fourth at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, where he also took his maiden F1 win. Hamilton's victory put an end to teammate Nico Rosberg's run of wins, and extended his lead in the championship to 17 points. "Did I need this? I think so," said Hamilton on the podium.
