Alonso given green light for Sepang

Fernando Alonso has taken another step towards reclaiming his place on the grid at the Malaysian GP after successfully completing a set of medical tests on Sunday. The 33-year-old missed the opening race of the season due to a concussion suffered in a crash during pre-season testing, but has spoken of his confidence that he would be fit for this week's race at the Sepang International circuit. The McLaren driver was examined by doctors at Cambridge University on Sunday and while no official statement has been made on the outcome of the tests, it is believed that Alonso has been given the green light to travel to Malaysia ahead of Sunday's race.
