Turn 8 has proved to be a bit of a problem corner for drivers, but the tarmac run off area beyond allows them to run wide and, in some circumstances, gain time. In qualifying 11 drivers had times deleted after running wide at Turn 8 and Whiting has warned that any driver gaining an advantage in the race will be reported to stewards.
