Vandoorne hails maiden Formula 1 test

McLaren-Mercedes Stoffel Vandoorne expressed his elation after conducting his maiden Formula 1 test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. The GP2 race winner completed 136 laps of the track on Wednesday in the McLaren MP4-29 and set the ninth fastest time. The running was sufficient to allow the Belgian to collect his Formula 1 super license. "This has been a fantastic day for me: my first experience in a Formula 1 car, and a really great opportunity to get plenty of laps under my belt," he said.
