Button hit by three-place grid penalty

Sutton Images Enlarge Jenson Button has been hit by a three-place grid penalty for the United States Grand Prix for overtaking another car under red flags. FP1 in Austin was a bizarre affair, with the session delayed by 40 minutes due to fog which prevented the medical helicopter from flying. Not long after the session finally got under way, the red flag came out due to further problems with the helicopter and the cars all returned to the pits. It is on his way back to the pit lane that Button overtook another car and as a result the stewards have handed him a drop of 3 grid positions for a breach of regulations. N S
