Alonso fit to race in Austin
Fernando Alonso has been passed fit to race in Austin this weekend after passing a medical test ahead of the US Grand Prix.
The Spaniard was sent bouncing across the kerbs in Abu Dhabi a fortnight ago following an incident with Jean-Eric Vergne, and complained of back pain afterwards.
The Ferrari driver was required to undergo precautionary hospital checks on the evening of the race following the impact, which was measured at 25G, although the two-time World Champion maintained throughout that his participation in Texas this week was never in doubt.
