Ferrari less competitive, claims Alonso

Fernando Alonso says his Ferrari team was "a bit less competitive than usual" on the opening day of practice for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but admits that he is confused as to whether this is a result of track characteristics or an incorrect set-up direction. Having ended the opening 90-minute session in 12th, Alonso made progress in the twilight outing to classify eighth, although the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber were almost a second quicker at the head of the combined timesheets.
