Ward to stand as FIA Presidential candidate
The FIA Foundations Director General, David Ward, has announced he is resigning from his post with the charity to stand in this years FIA Presidential election. The FIA - Formula One racings governing body - is currently headed by former Ferrari team boss Jean Todt. After much careful thought I have decided to stand, said Ward in a statement. The election period begins in September and it will be necessary for me to approach FIA members to secure nominations. In these circumstances I think that the correct course of action is to resign.Election processes inevitably involve robust and lively debate, and whilst the Foundation is independent...
