Ward to run against Todt

David Ward has confirmed that he will run against Jean Todt for the presidency of the FIA, motorsport's governing body. Ward, an ally of former FIA president Max Mosley, announced on Thursday that he had quit his job as director general to the Foundation, a position he has filled for the past 12 years. The 56-year-old will instead run against Todt for the job of FIA president. "After much careful thought, I have decided to stand as a candidate in the 2013 FIA Presidential election," Ward said.
