Tilke '100% sure' Russian GP will go ahead
The designer of the Russian Grand Prix circuit, Hermann Tilke, has said that he is '100% sure' that race will go ahead next year, confirming that the track will be ready by a supposed date of October 2014.
Work continues on the 3.7 mile street-style circuit in Sochi which will travel around the Winter Olympic park, with the city set to host the games in February 2014.
However behind the scenes it emerged that the Russian Automobile Federation (RAF) missed last week's deadline to apply for a place on next year's calendar. The missed deadline was partly due to disagreements between the RAF and the race organisers, JSC Omega.
