Test permission not granted, reiterates FIA

Governing body the FIA has reiterated that official permission for Mercedes to run a 2013 chassis during its tyre test with Pirelli was not officially granted, describing any form of approval from Race Director Charlie Whiting as 'irrelevant'. With the International Tribunal (IT) getting underway in Paris on Thursday morning, the FIA was first to be heard by the panel, underlining the reason for taking the matter further after stewards at the Monaco Grand Prix passed over ultimate responsibility.
