Wolff pushes back against Vowles’ proposed F1 cost cap shake-up

Toto Wolff has little appetite for giving Formula 1 teams a financial lifeline based on their championship position, firmly rejecting James Vowles’ proposal to introduce a sliding-scale budget cap and warning against importing a controversial principle from other forms of motorsport. The Williams team principal has been pushing for a substantial rethink of F1’s financial regulations, arguing that the combined $215 million CapEx/OpEx allowance risks creating a two-tier championship.
