Russell reveals secret behind ‘perfect lap’ for Baku pole

The Mercedes driver delivered a flyer in Q3 that he described as “the perfect lap” to snatch pole for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, leaving Charles Leclerc a remarkable 0.837 seconds behind and securing his fifth pole position of the season. Russell had been quick throughout the session, topping every qualifying segment, but the final margin suggested something extraordinary had happened when it mattered most.
