Norris lost out but ‘did everything right’ in Spanish GP

Lando Norris left the Madring with the uncomfortable feeling of having done almost everything right and still being denied the reward he felt was his. The reigning world champion had started Formula 1’s first Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid from pole, resisted Kimi Antonelli’s challenge at the opening corner and quickly established himself as the man in control. For once, McLaren appeared to have everything lined up. Then the Virtual Safety Car arrived at precisely the wrong moment.
