F1: Russell magnanimous in defeat
George Russell admits that teammate Kimi Antonelli is now in control of the championship. Somewhat surprisingly, as tensions are rising elsewhere, there were no radio hysterics from Russell when Mercedes made the game-changing decision to pit his teammate under the VSC, while leaving the Briton on 26-lap old rubber. Perhaps Russell thought he could still win. However, as Antonelli set about closing the 8s gap, and his engineer Marcus Dudley warned him that the Italian would be with him 'by the end', subsequently adding that his tyres were damaged, the Briton continued.
