Haas steps up 2027 driver evaluation with latest TPC test

Haas has completed a three-day Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) programme at Portimao with Ryo Hirakawa, Leonardo Fornaroli and Rafael Camara, as the American team continues to assess its options for the 2027 Formula 1 driver line-up. The test, held at the Portuguese circuit from August 26-28, saw all three drivers take turns behind the wheel of the VF-25, Haas’ 2025 F1 car. Hirakawa, who serves as Haas’ reserve driver, was joined by Fornaroli and Camara. Fornaroli is the reigning Formula 2 champion and a McLaren development driver, while Camara is a Ferrari junior and one of the leading contenders in the current F2 championship.
