Sainz takes blame for Williams double blow in Dutch GP

Carlos Sainz accepted responsibility for a late-race mistake that turned an already frustrating Dutch Grand Prix into an even more painful afternoon for Williams, after his attempt to defend from Alex Albon ended with both cars compromised. The two Williams drivers were running outside the points when Sainz moved across to defend into Zandvoort’s Turn 1. But the Spaniard locked a front tyre under braking and hit Albon, damaging his team-mate’s car and forcing himself into the pits.
