Verstappen explains costly Zandvoort crash: ‘I got caught out’

Max Verstappen’s final Dutch Grand Prix ended with a rare lapse of judgment and a painful lesson in just how unforgiving Zandvoort’s banking can be. The Red Bull driver had survived a scrappy opening to his home race, holding seventh after being forced onto the grass in a four-wide run towards Turn 1. But just as he appeared to have settled into the race, he made the mistake that brought his afternoon to an abrupt and costly early end.
