F1: Vowles feared losing both drivers
James Vowles admits that Williams slide down the grid left him fearing he would lose Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz. Best of the rest in 2025, this season has seen Williams struggling at the back of the field, only just holding off Aston Martin and Cadillac. With no end to the team's issues in sight, certainly not this year, Vowles was fearful that Albon and Sainz would seek alternative berths... not that there were many to choose from. 'I was concerned about losing both because they are world championship-material drivers that deserve the opportunity to be fighting for podiums or more, and we haven't delivered that,' the Briton told reporters at Zandvoort.
