Zak Brown keeps team papaya revving with pole at Laguna

At Laguna Seca’s Monterey Historics Pre-Union event, the McLaren Racing boss swapped the pitwall for the cockpit of something considerably older, louder and less interested in subtlety than a modern F1 car: a mighty McLaren M8D Can-Am machine. And Brown wasn’t there merely to admire the machinery. Putting his racing instincts to work, he hustled the big-block beast to pole position for Sunday’s Bruce McLaren Trophy.
