Sainz sets out clear condition for staying at Williams

Carlos Sainz has admitted his original timeline for returning to the front of the Formula 1 grid with Williams has already slipped, revealing that his long-term future with the Grove outfit will ultimately depend on how quickly the team can reverse its fortunes. The Spaniard joined Williams after making way for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, buying into James Vowles' ambitious vision of rebuilding the historic team into a race-winning force. That faith initially looked well placed as Sainz delivered two podium finishes last season, but Williams' progress has stalled dramatically...
