Why was Hamilton penalized for his start infringement?
The FIA has explained why Lewis Hamilton received a five-second time penalty during the British Grand Prix, with the stewards concluding that the Ferrari driver moved before the start signal was given. Hamilton made a strong launch from the front row and initially held second place behind teammate Charles Leclerc, but his race was compromised after officials ruled that he had committed a false start.
