Antonelli hails Monaco pole as ‘one of those magic laps’

Once again, a sensational Kimi Antonelli delivered when it mattered in Saturday’s Monaco Grand Prix qualifying, the Mercedes driver producing what he described as a “magic lap” to seize pole position for Sunday’s race. It was a breathtaking performance by the championship leader that evoked memories of some of Formula 1’s greatest laps around the streets of Monte Carlo. Antonelli entered Saturday facing a formidable challenge.
