Hamilton was “really hopeful” Alonso would beat Verstappen to Monaco pole

Lewis Hamilton has revealed he was rooting for former McLaren F1 teammate Fernando Alonso as the Spaniard narrowly missed out on his first pole position in over 11 years at the Monaco Grand Prix.
