Szafnauer: Aston Martin pretty satisfied FIA took correct steps
Aston Martin team principal Otmar Szafnauer has softened his stance against the FIA and the off-season rule changes that he feels have hurt his team's chances. Speaking at Imola during the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Szafnauer went as far as to suggest that Aston Martin could launch legal action over the regulation changes, which include alterations to the floor and rear-end of the car. With the team struggling to compete with their midfield rivals so far this season, Szafnauer felt that the new rules hurt their low rake concept and explained that he would seek talks with the FIA as a result.
