How much Toro Rosso spent on fixing crashed cars in 2018...

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost has revealed that the cost of fixing damage done by Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley crashing in 2018 totalled more than €2million. Hartley especially suffered poor fortune in the season, which perhaps cost him his race seat. The Kiwi suffered heavy crashes in practice sessions in Spain and Great Britain, with scary in-race collisions coming in Canada and Monaco. Toro Rosso dropped two places and 20 points in the constructors' standings from 2017 to 2018 after switching to Honda power – something Tost has already put down to aerodynamic failings on the team's side, with bad luck perhaps also playing a part.
