Leclerc told to save tyres 50 times in Mexican GP

Charles Leclerc’s strategy on Sunday at the Mexican Grand Prix was incredible, lapping 56 times on the super soft tyres to finally come home in P7 and pick up another six points for his championship tally as he sits in P15. In a Grand Prix that was dominated by tyre wear, the Monegasque was one of just five drivers to start on the hypersoft tyres and somehow managed to pit just once. He managed to keep his position in P7 by only pushing on exit of turn 16, to stay ahead of those behind him, notably Kevin Magnussen, who said over the radio that he could not overtake the Sauber.
