Briatore: Alonso will not leave McLaren

– Flavio Briatore, heavily involved in Fernando Alonso's career, says the Spaniard will not leave McLaren to replace Nico Rosberg at Mercedes for 2017, amid speculation linking him to the vacancy.Alonso, among many other names, has been mentioned as a potential candidate to join Lewis Hamilton, after newly-crowned World Champion Rosberg made his shock announcement last week.Mercedes boss Toto Wolff admitted that the manufacturer "has to consider" signing Alonso, though remained wary of his existing contract, which new McLaren chief Zak Brown emphasised.Briatore, who became Alonso's manager in 1999, and later acted as his team boss when he won two world titles at Renault,...
