German Grand Prix – Formula One has voted against the introduction of the Halo cockpit protection for 2017. A meeting in Geneva of the Formula One Strategy Group has ended months of speculation regarding developing cockpit protection in the sport, following a presentation given to drivers at the previous round in Hungary, showcasing examples of previous incidents in which the Halo would have bettered the scenario.
